Ideal heat pumps

Ideal heating, designed as one complete system.

Enerus designs and installs Ideal air source heat-pump systems across the North East—matching the outdoor unit, cylinder, controls, emitters and hydraulics to the property.

Explore the Ideal range

Four heat-pump families for different system requirements.

Select a range to compare its architecture and published outputs. Final selection follows the calculated heat loss and manufacturer performance data.

Enerus checks the manufacturer’s capacity and electrical input at the design outdoor temperature and proposed water temperature, alongside sound, siting, system volume, flow and emitter performance.

Ideal Logic Air monobloc heat pump

Not one-size-fits-all

The newest range is not automatically the right range.

HP290 is Ideal’s current R290 monobloc family, while Logic Air and the Alfea split ranges remain relevant to different designs, outputs and project constraints.

  • Room-by-room heat loss establishes the required duty
  • Emitter output is checked at the proposed flow temperature
  • Monobloc and split architecture affect installation requirements
  • Electrical supply, sound assessment and siting are confirmed
  • Cylinder capacity is based on actual hot-water use

Ideal heat-pump cylinder range

Standard, slimline and integrated-buffer solutions.

Ideal’s pre-plumbed packages combine hot-water storage with system components for different plant spaces and zoning strategies. Choose a family below to explore it.

Single-zone pre-plumbed cylinders

A compact package for a single heating zone, available in both standard-width and slimline formats.

  • HP290 packages list Halo Lite RF compatibility

Published usable DHW content is approximately 145–170 litres across these products, depending on the selected standard or slimline model.

Standard vs slimlineSlimline models reduce cylinder diameter but can be taller. The complete installed width and service access still need checking.
Actual hot-water demandBaths, showers, occupancy, simultaneous use and recovery determine capacity—not bedroom count alone.
25-year cylinder warranty*Ideal states 25 years on the stainless-steel cylinder and two years on components, subject to its terms.

Controls matched to the equipment

Ideal’s control route depends on the selected heat pump.

The thermostat is only one part of the controls. Sensors, control box, zone components and commissioning settings must all match the system.

Design. Install. Commission.

The product range only becomes a heating system after proper design.

1

Establish the demand

Room heat losses and hot-water use determine the actual duties—not floor area or an existing boiler rating.

2

Choose the architecture

Heat pump, cylinder, controls, zones, emitters, pipework and electrical work are specified as one proposal.

3

Commission the result

Flow, balancing, weather compensation, hot water, schedules and customer controls are set up and recorded.

Ideal heat pump questions

Clear answers before equipment is selected.

Which Ideal heat-pump range should I choose?

That depends on calculated heat loss, required water temperature, output at design conditions, system architecture, electrical supply and siting. HP290, Logic Air and the Alfea ranges are not interchangeable solely by their product-size labels.

What sizes does the Ideal HP290 range include?

Ideal lists 4.5, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14kW HP290 products. The unit must still be selected using its performance at the project’s outdoor and flow temperatures.

Does Ideal offer slimline heat-pump cylinders?

Yes. Ideal lists slimline options within its pre-plumbed single-zone and two-zone cylinder families. Dimensions and actual domestic-hot-water content must be checked before selection.

What is an Ideal Duo cylinder?

The Logic Air Duo range combines domestic-hot-water storage with an integrated buffer and factory-fitted control equipment. It is offered in single and two-zone versions.

Which thermostat works with an Ideal heat pump?

It depends on the range and control package. Ideal lists Halo Lite RF compatibility for HP290 packages and Halo Air compatibility for Logic Air packages. Enerus confirms the complete control specification in the proposal.

Can an Ideal heat pump work with existing radiators?

Potentially, but each radiator must be checked against the room’s calculated heat loss at the proposed water temperature. Some emitters may need upgrading.
