Heating faults we can investigate
Tell us what you are experiencing. Our role is to diagnose the cause, explain the findings and agree any chargeable repair before proceeding.
No heating
The appliance, controls, circulation and system demand may all need checking.
No hot water
Diagnosis can include the heat source, cylinder, valves, controls and sensors.
Error code or lockout
We investigate the underlying fault rather than repeatedly resetting the appliance.
Pressure loss or leaks
Pressure problems can originate in the appliance, expansion system or heating circuit.
Cold rooms or radiators
Possible causes include balancing, air, circulation, controls, valves or system design.
Unusual noise
Pumps, fans, valves, water quality and restricted flow can create different symptoms.
High energy use
Settings, controls, flow temperature and equipment condition may affect consumption.
Controls not responding
We can assess thermostats, sensors, zoning, actuators and control communication.
A clear repair journey
What happens when you request a repair?
From the information you provide to the report after the visit, you should always understand what happens next.
Step 1 of 4
Describe the problem when booking
Tell us the system type, make and model where known, what has stopped working and any error code displayed. Photographs can sometimes help us prepare.
- Choose the correct service or repair route
- Share access or parking information
- Tell us if heating or hot water is completely unavailable
Step 2 of 4
Your engineer assesses the system
A fault may sit outside the boiler or heat pump itself, so the engineer considers controls, circulation and connected components where relevant.
- Confirm the reported symptoms
- Complete appropriate safety and diagnostic checks
- Identify the likely cause and required action
Step 3 of 4
We explain what we have found
You will receive a clear explanation of the fault and the available next step. Additional labour, replacement parts or return visits are agreed before chargeable work continues.
- Understand the diagnosis
- See what is included in the attendance charge
- Approve additional work before it begins
Step 4 of 4
Repair, test and document
Where the required parts and time are available, we aim to complete the repair during the visit. Otherwise, we explain the temporary position and arrange the next action.
- Repair completed where practical
- Operation checked after the work
- Findings and recommendations recorded
Clear service pricing

Common questions
Heating service and repair FAQs
What is the difference between a service and a repair?
A service is planned maintenance intended to inspect condition, safety and operation. A repair appointment is for an existing fault or breakdown and normally involves diagnosis followed by separately agreed repair work.
Can Enerus service a system it did not install?
In many cases, yes. Tell us the appliance make, model, age and location when booking so we can confirm suitability and prepare for the visit.
Are replacement parts included in the service price?
No. The published service price covers the scheduled maintenance visit. Replacement parts, repairs and additional fault-finding are chargeable unless expressly included in a written offer or plan term.
Will you repair the fault during the first visit?
We aim to complete repairs during the first visit where the diagnosis is clear and the necessary parts and time are available. Some faults require a specialist part, further testing or a return appointment.
How often should my boiler or heat pump be serviced?
Annual servicing is commonly required or recommended and may be a condition of the manufacturer warranty. Always follow the requirements for your specific appliance and warranty.
Is the Enerus Care plan breakdown insurance?
No. It is a maintenance membership. Repairs, replacement parts and other charges remain payable unless a particular benefit is expressly included in the applicable plan terms.
Do you service underfloor heating and cylinders?
Enerus can assess many underfloor-heating, hot-water-cylinder and associated control problems. Contact us with the system details so the correct engineer and appointment type can be arranged.
What should I do if I smell gas?
Do not use an ordinary service or repair booking form. Turn off the gas at the meter if it is safe, open windows and doors, avoid electrical switches and naked flames, leave the property, and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.
Which areas do you cover?
Core coverage includes Northumberland, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Gateshead, Sunderland, County Durham, Darlington and parts of Teesside. Availability varies, so please check your postcode when booking.
