About Heat Pumps

Are heat pumps noisy?

Heat pumps do make noise, but they don’t make much noise.
We use heat pumps that carry the ‘Quiet Mark’ award and all installations a required to have a sound level check beforehand.

Will I need to have my radiators changed?

Heat pumps work at lower temperatures than your average gas boilers, meaning they require a bigger surface area to keep the heating performance adequate. Luckily replacing radiators isn’t too expensive and any all installations will include the necessary upgrades required.

Do I need planning permission for my heat pump?

In the majority of installations you will not need to apply for planning permission as an Air Source Heat Pump is considered a permitted development.

Will I be eligible for funding towards my heat pump?

Yes, under the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, everyone is entitled to a £5,000 incentive off your upfront costs. Meaning the cost of a heat pump has been more affordable.
